Parents & Carers

At The Stables Independent School, we believe that a close working relationship with parents and carers is vitally important in order for our pupils to thrive in education.

We have an open door policy for all parents and carers and welcome their involvement in their child’s education and development.

Attendance

At The Stables Independent School, we are very proud of our pupils’ high levels of school attendance and we strive to support pupils, parents and carers to maintain 100% attendance. We offer awards and incentives to encourage pupils to achieve this target.

Parent/Carer Concerns

We take any concerns from parents and carers very seriously and always aim to resolve them as quickly as possible.

If you have any concerns regarding your child, in the first instance, please make an appointment to see or speak with the class teacher or your child’s link worker.

If you do not feel that it has been resolved at this point, please call Miss White in the school office to make an appointment with Mrs Porter.

If the concern is regarding a safeguarding concern, please make an appointment to speak directly to Mrs Porter (Headteacher) who is the Designated Safeguarding Lead for the school.

If you wish to make a complaint, please follow the procedures outlined in our school’s Complaints Policy (this can be found in the ‘Policies’ section of our website).

Covid 19

The Stables Independent School is committed to ensuring that practical and effective measures are in place to minimise the risk of COVID-19 infection for our staff, pupils and the school community.

We regularly review our policies, procedures and risk assessments to meet any changes within local and national guidance and to ensure the continued wellbeing of everyone.

Homework

Our objective for pupil homework is to encourage pupils to develop organisational skills and self-discipline, and to bridge the gap between home and school to provide parents and carers with direct involvement in children’s learning.

The Stables Independent School aims to develop pupils’ independent learning skills and provides further opportunities to personalise learning and develop self-motivation and self-confidence.
