Safeguarding Children
We all have a duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of children during their time at our school.
If you have any concerns about a child or adult, please speak to Mrs Sarah Porter (Head Teacher and Designated Safeguarding Lead), Mr Gary Spackman (Deputy Head Teacher and Designated Safeguarding Lead) or Mr James Beddow (Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead) in person or by telephone on +44 1692 581467. The Proprietor of The Stables Independent School is Karim Lalani. Our Safeguarding Policy can be accessed here.
Safeguarding in the Curriculum
The Stables Independent School places great importance on ensuring that students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs receive education that is appropriate for their level. The school takes care to deliver safeguarding content in a way that is easy for students to understand.
The curriculum is designed to provide opportunities for students to learn how to keep themselves safe and experience life in all its diversity. It is critical that children understand how to safeguard themselves and how to report concerns if they or their peers feel unsafe.
Our Personal, Social, Health and Relationship Education (PSHRE) is an essential aspect of the curriculum which covers various areas of safeguarding. We are sensitive in our teaching and recognise that some more delicate subjects need to be taught at an emotionally appropriate level, or in a small group or 1:1 level where a more urgent need arises.
Our values-based curriculum also ensures that children can make good decisions about their own behaviour, helping to create a safe, caring and inclusive environment in school.
